Thank you for you kind words Open Eyes, Gus, and Kasva. Dinner was a happy event and I didn't give the past a thought, thus I worried unnecessarily.

I am glad that I could realize that I had indeed truly forgiven him, the fear I had was this wouldn't be the case. I think forgiveness took place for me when my father quit drinking/drugging and began treatment for his own mental struggles. This was 30 years ago. Since I finally am dealing with my own depression, I can better figure it all out.
