that sucks. happy thanksgiving right.

glad that you are taking care of yourself by doing the therapy thing. of course the incident re-triggered stuff...it can't help but too. you had done everything right prior to the assault...made steps to alert a supervisor, tried to handle the situation calmly without escalating it, etc...what you didn't expect was the male co-worker sacrificing you. that would cause trauma both emotional & physical in anyone.

good thing is that you recognize what is happening to you...the effects of ptsd. that is good..this way it just doesn't seem like some random symptoms clicking in & crippling your life after this episode. therapy will help to get you back on track again.

can i make a suggestion? when you are stronger ...take a self defense course. doesn't have to be a black belt type of thing...but something that will offer you the skills to protect yourself & give you the inner & outer strength for protection. i believe you will find this so empowering. it puts some of the control back in your hands (literally).

until you get to therapy..be calm & be gentle with yourself. do what you feel comfortable & safe doing.

if you feel the need to press charges against the man who assaulted you, do it..

i also want to add i commend you & thank you for helping out in a soup kitchen. you done good by that...everybody has something they do that gives back...& that is a nice thing. & if no one has thanked you...i will...& i am sorry it got ruined for you.

feel better.
Thanks for this!
