Jbug,

I am so glad you are getting back to living again......pneumonia is a horrible thing.....been there done that too many time in my life.....a few years ago, I had pneumonia 3 times in one year. Not hospitalized for them, but was for an asthma attack about 2 years ago.

It was only supposed to be a 3 day stay because the ER treatment with the albuterol had dropped my potassium to a dangerous low. Went to my new GP & landed in the hospital for 10 days. That was because I had an allergic reaction to one of the meds they tried on my......it caused me to loose my voice completely & my GP wouldn't let me go home worse off than when I came in. I told him by writing, that I thought it was a reaction.....they took me off that med & it still took 3 days for my voice to come back......my allergic reactions take way too long to get over & they thought it might not be that....but my voice came back quickly when the reaction went away.....almost with a snap of my fingers. It is horrible being in a hospital room with the call buttons & not be able to call for help when you have no voice at all.

I know that they have pneumonia shots that are supposed to prevent pneumonia.....don't know how they work & don't want to try either cause I usually have worse reactions to those kind of things than having them prevent anything.

It does take alot out of you when you are that sick....for sure.....just take it easy & let yourself sleep as much as you need.....no need to have a relapse....can be worse than the initial.

Take care,
Debbie
