Erm, I do actually know more than most about this subject - I am a qualified dietician at a UK hospital.
The mathematics are correct.
Any fat, whatever form, still has 9 calories per gram. All other categories of food have 4.5 cals per gram.
Of course, some fats are good, some bad, but they all carry the same calorific value.
No product on the shelf will help you intrinsically in weight loss, only by a placebo effect, that is, give a person more incentive to stick to a healthy eating plan and/or take more exercise.
By the way, this is supposed to be a support board, but recently there has been a very acidic tone creeping into the posts. Very unpleasant when people are trying to help or in some cases simply giving their opinion.
