Hi everyone,

I tend to have the bad habit of telling myself that I HAVE to do this homework, and HAVE to work on it for a certain amount of time. Usually, it's an overwhelming goal for me, such as 1 hour. When that happens, my mind goes into panic mode and becomes paralyzed. I find that I cannot do any work at all because I'm so worried about falling short of that unrealistic goal.

So what I began a couple of weeks ago...was to tell myself that I only needed to do 10 minutes of school work. Because it seemed like such a small amount of time, I started the homework with a lot less pressure, and almost all of the time, ended up doing A LOT more than the minimal 10 minutes. Sometimes, about an hour of homework, without that horrible feeling of pressure!

So I have been setting this small goal on a daily basis, and it makes doing that school work a whole lot easier.

Does anybody else use this strategy?
Thanks for this!
