We have known each other since we were kids, but only talked off and on so he wasn't a part of my life when I was going through the really tough parts as a teen. We got back into contact last year and met up and hung out a couple times and then I had a crisis and took off. So.. we started seeing each other in August of this year. We've been in a serious relationship since the beginning of September. I love him, he is the best boyfriend I have ever had and this is the healthiest, most open relationship. The problem is, while I know everything about him, he has yet to learn that I have various disorders. He knows of my anxiety.
I would like to tell him about my Bipolar Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder once I have been on Lithium for a month. That will be December 29th. I just don't know how to go about bringing it up, or what to say. I want to help him look past any stigma and truly understand it, but I want to avoid scaring him or making it seem like it is a huge deal(hence waiting until the meds are working fully).
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
