Hi burning.

I think reading the right books can help you a lot. I don't mean school/study books but self-help/self-improvement books.

I could write all kinds of ideas I learned from some books here, but I just don't know where to begin. Here's some really good books. Perhaps they have them in a local bookstore, otherwise online is a good place to look, like amazon or something.

- How To Make Friends And Influence People
- First Impressions - What you don't know about how others see you
- 7 Habits of highly effective people

Social skills are learned. When you're a child, you learn them mostly from your parents and other children. These are basic skills. When you're a teen you should learn more advanced skills. But if you're shy it's kind of a problem.

I learned (and I'm not happy about it really, but it's just the truth) that people are not just going to respect you. Especially if you are hurting they will likely not give respect, especially teens won't do that. You have to earn respect, and you do that with having good social skills, clothing style, and things like that. Now that I'm older I just learned to accept this and go with the flow, even if I don't really always like popular culture nowadays. But I rather be around people than be alone.
