Hello all. I started waking up in the morning with finger and toe numbness. This started a few weeks ago. My fingers are getting worse. I can barely feel my fingertips typing. I also get a burning or pain kind of feeling. I also had to call off from work one day because I had a "splash" of vision loss in the right side of my visualize field. The next day I woke up seeing halos. Now my feet hurt when I get up out of bed in the morning! So I went to my primary and she ordered a brain MRI. They found seven non-specific lesions in my brain but it could be demylination which the most likely cause is Mutiple Sclerosis. I have to eventually see a neurologist and get another brain MRI and cervical spine mri with contrast to identify more lesions.
Well fortunately its not a brain tumor lol
Thank goodness I'm up to 200mg of Lamictal to help keep out of any awful depressions because of this. My hands are really bugging me though. I am an ultrasound tech so they are my money maker. If they don't work, I'm screwed. Well I wil just have to go back to school to learn something else, maybe radiology or radiation therapy. I won't need to do fine motor movements like I do now.
I think the worst is waiting for test results. I just want to know what it is so I can do whatever I need to do to feel better. It's also the unpredictable nature of MS that scares me. I always need to have everything planned out or it drives me crazy.
Thanks for listening! I'm keeping my head up and keep on plugging through. There's much worse things I could have. I'm fortunate it's not cancer.
