This week they said at the memorial this was the start of domestic violence awareness. They did say it was nationwide so there should be something happening throughout the states this week.
When I arrived the first thing I saw was the "t-shirts". These shirts were made by survivors of different ages and sexes. The t-shirts first began in 1975. The representation of the clothesline was that women were often told not too talk about violence within their own home so often they would talk amongst each other while they would hang their clothes out to dry.

I took some pics of some of the shirts but they are pretty intense so I did not post them.
