I SI, and as far as I'm aware I haven't been given any label or diagnoses beyond 'depression' and 'anxiety' - by anyone, doctor/T/or psychiatrist. I have suspected that I may be Borderline, or 'Quiet Borderline' - I definitely identify with numerous 'traits' - but my T told me she doesn't think I have a personality disorder (unless she's changed her mind about that since then, that was a while ago...)
I wouldn't worry too much about a label though, unless you think it's affecting the course of your therapy or treatment - which I would hope is tailored to you as an individual anyway, and not just a 'one size fits all' approach for your particular diagnosis? If the 'label' is the only thing you disagree with your T on, maybe let it go, but on the other hand if you feel he really just doesn't 'get' or understand you, maybe try a different T if you can?
