ugh - cockroaches - thank god I left them behind when I moved to Oregon from Philly.

Fruitflies - I have had really good luck eradicating them using a glass of apple cider vinegar, and making sure that I take the compost out to the bin daily instead of waiting for the kitchen container to fill up.
