Do you feel the shift before, after, or during a dissociation? I have, on a few occasions, had the sensation that something in my brain just splits, for lack of a better description. I mean, there's no pain, just the odd sensation that something in my head just sort of snaps. And then I immediately plunge into a dissociation. It doesn't happen every time I dissociate, only if something emotionally jarring happens.

It's all such an odd phenomenon, I'm still struggling to understand it sometimes.
