Hugs to all of you who are posting here!
Anger isn't a happy, comfortable, easy topic to discuss with others. Who really wants to admit they are angry? As Onward2wards wrote: "...I generally stuff it down and just sit with it." I'm guess this is a common response that many of us share.
Before I give my update, I want to mention a couple of things I did to prepare for the meeting today. I took a couple of free tests at a site named
http://richardstep.com/
One was to identify my strengths; the second to identify the things that motivate me at work.
The results from those tests described me well. And the suggested tips provided helped me focus on how to present my concerns today.
So, how did it go? Let me just say that I felt as though a ton of weight got lifted off of my shoulders! I actually enjoyed my work day for the first time in many months and I was able to share real smiles with co-workers.
The guy my boss reports to listened carefully during our meeting. Many of the issues we discussed have been talked about at higher levels already. I left the meeting knowing that I can go around my boss almost all of the time, just as long as I can show I carefully considered options and then logically made a decision.
How freeing!!!!
