Yes!!! That has been my biggest issue when I am hypomanic/manic. I have cheated on my husband twice when in that state and let me tell you...when I have come down, it is not pretty. The guilt, hating myself, etc. all comes in to play-not to mention marital trust issues, when I come down from that euphoric state.

I think you should speak with your doctor about how to deal with this issue. They may have some suggestions about how to adjust your meds, when this state arises(if you are on them). My only other suggestion is to talk to someone about what you are going through...a close friend or us at PC. I posted about 2 weeks ago when I was hypomanic and it was nice to hear some of the responses because it helped me to stay in reality when all I wanted to do was be reckless and enjoy the ride...

And in regards to the antidepressants...yes, when I am on an antidepressant alone I swing into mania, so, I have recently added on Lamictal as a mood stabilizer. Whats great about it is it does have antidepressant effects, But once you get to the right dose(varies with each person), it helps prevent mania. So far, my depression is lifting daily and my SI has decreased dramatically. I have been on 100 mg for about a week after titrating up over about 3 weeks.

I hope you find some help for this issue, as I know it can be quite troubling!
