What I think can help is reading good books about depression, family relationships, self-esteem and confidence, social assertiveness, etc.
Online bookstores like amazon.com and barnes&nobles are good place to search for self-help books.
For me personally medications and therapy didn't do very much. What helped for me was taking control of my own life, taking personal responsibility for everything that has and will happen. I think self-help books saved my life.
Going the self-help/reading good books route can help you I think. Improvement in life often goes through the library first. Take care.
