If you have any doubt, you should talk to the anesthesiologist. About 10 years ago, I had a D&C done, and with all the meds I was on, he would not put me under. It was a pain being awake, although they gave me pain killers.

I have had major surgery since then, with no problems. I think it depends upon what meds you are on, and how you react. Good luck with the surgery.
