Life is definitely hard sometimes. What I have learned through my many hospitalizations and therapy sessions...is that it isn't so much WHAT happens in my life, but HOW I react to it. It has been a slow and often painful change for me, but working on not allowing myself to react to external events through negative coping mechanisms (ie, cutting) has improved my life tremendously.
You are taking the right steps by seeing a therapist and going through DBT. I hope you find, over time, that it is beneficial for you.
