I'm a little bit worried. I have a very good memory, generally speaking. I can't imagine meeting a Julia, connecting with her to the extent that I add her phone number to my mobile, and then just forgetting her...

It mightn't be DID (though on one occasion a pdoc told me I'd disociated, whatever that means). Can anyone think of how I might have met a Julia and forgotten her? (Drunkeness or drug use isn't it.)
the brain is a very strange thing. just about anything can cause a person to have memory lapses and do things they dont remember doing. like lack of sleep will do it, lack of nutrician and fluids can do it, physical health problems can do it. so can just being very busy, boredom, stress....

one of my sisters have this problem you wrote about. her's is because she is going through menopause.

Ive been known to save names and numbers and not know why I have them or when I got them just because I have been so busy I wasnt paying attention to that kind of details. I have also done this kind of thing when I was stressing out or over tired, havent ate correctly, gosh there have been so many normal forgetfulness around names and phone numbers I probably cant list them all.

Did you talk about this with your treatment providers? if so what did they say it was.. if not you might want to consider it so that they can rule out things like anemia, sleep deprivation, depression and other things that can cause it. if it turns out to be a dissociation problem your treatment providers can teach you about grounding and how to control it, so that this doesn't keep happening to you.
