Women still receive less pay, are passed over for promotion (god forbit they should get pregnant), are subject to 'jokes' and harrassment, are judged by appearance etc etc.
I don't feel or believe I am inferior but the dominant culture tries to tell me I am for one reason or another.

This is a very true statement. I have all sorts of "body issues" that I dont' want my daughters to have. Unfortunately, I believe I have probably passed it to them, unwittingly, by putting myself down and saying things like, "I wish I looked like that" or "I feel so fat", etc.
As far as equal pay for equal work....I've never seen that more obvious than at my current job. My boss has a MASTERS degree in accounting and she makes barely over $20.00/hr. We hired a part-time intern who just got his bachelors degree in engineering (he's about 22) and he makes close to $10/hr more than she does. All of the women in my office are VERY smart and very good at what they do. But this is a male dominated industry and so the "lowly office girl" will never earn as much as these Project Managers, Auto-Cad guys, or any other male.
Funny thing is, if all the women in my office quit. That company would be up ***** creek.
