great idea but I dont think it would have the right affects. take eating disorders for instance. why doesnt psych central have weight charts, diet plans and all that here - because it can adversely affect those with an eating disorder making them aim towards the expected charted weights instead of following what is right for them set down by their own treatment providers. I think if psych central had all those charts you stated in your post it can make members feel like something is wrong with them if they are not on the typical charting. and can also make other members disbelieve members posted diagnoses just because they dont fit the typical depression charting, typical bipolar charting,.
if you really want to know what is "Typical" for you and your problems. its easy to find out .. just contact your treatment providers, ie your therapist, medical doctors and psychiatrists. they can tell you any statistics they have concerning your own issues, mental and physical health problems.
by the way here where I live and work there is no such thing as a "typical stable person" a normal person can be someone who has ups and downs and times when they get manic, make rash decisions, have rocky relationships. appear to be mentally disordered when they are not.. example its christmas time look at how many folks there are in your neighborhood that are not acting like you think they should, how many people in your area are making rash decisions to go out and buy this that and the other thing that you dont think they *really* need, how many people during the christmas season are going to have that let down feeling the day after christmas because after all the rushing around and hyping up that has lead to chrsitmas is now over. how many people seem to have a mental disorder that you see as you go off to work or where ever..
besides...mental health statistics, charts, demographics are never "typical". they only represent those that have been surveyed. it doesnt take into consideration the general population.
I think having charting of "typical" anything here on psych central will only do more harm then good to the members. everyone here has their own ways in which mental disorders affect them and thats the way it is in the real world too.
