The medicine will only work if you take it consistently. Risperdal dosages can sometimes be split, reducing the sedating side effects. Definitely call your pdoc and see if this is an option for you.

Also, while I can sympathize with transportation difficulties, disrupting your sleep on such a continual basis is a recipe for disaster. Is there any way at all you could find another solution? Could someone your bf works with take him home a couple of times a week? Do you have a car that he could take a couple of times a week? Please try to find another solution. Sleep is so important for us to stay balanced. I lost sleep a couple of weeks ago because of a cold and it sent me into a mixed episode.

But yes, call your pdoc. And be honest with him about the meds.
