Wow that is tough, feeling like it is your fault for scenes in movies you don't know are in there yet because you haven't seen it yet!
My stepmother caught me in some pretty good double binds (can't win either way, "Have you quit beating your wife?" is the classic example; if you answer "yes" it means you use to beat your wife, that's not good, but if you answer "no" it means you are still beating your wife :-)
I still remember when we'd have dinner and I would have to go to the bathroom afterwards and my stepmother would get angry, declaring I was trying to get out of doing the dishes like I was supposed to. So, while I'm in the bathroom, she'd do the dishes and be all angry at me! Why couldn't she just let the dishes wait; not like I can stay in the bathroom forever?

But I grew up being confused and not knowing or trusting myself and my motives and memories.
People like that use to be called "crazy makers".
