needs you to be the "problem child" to allow them to pretend there's nothing wrong with them?
This is the kind of question a real counselor or therapist might address. Unfortunately, you are not in a position to go out and get that kind of counseling on your own. Do you have a school nurse? Is there someone at your school -- counselor, teacher, administrator -- known for being an advocate for youth in difficult situations?
