I have been on Seroquel 100 mg for over a year now. At first, I got the sleep-like-a-rock, wake up feeling full-on drunk with cotton in my skull for a few hours. After about 10 days, the side effects started to subside, and after about 3-4 weeks I was able to wake and function normally. I have never missed a single dose since being put on it (or any of my other meds).

Seroquel has kept me episode-free for 15 months (my dx is BP). Now I am able to function at 100% and think clearly, and the mania has been put out to pasture. But, since all meds affect everyone differently, this might not be the case for you. I was told it would take a good 4-6 weeks to feel the full benefits from Seroquel. I hope you can make it through the side effects long enough to give Seroquel a chance; it really has been a good med for me in my battle with BP (WAY better than Topomax).
