If you are willing, would you please share how you worked the first step?

http://forums.psychcentral.com/showthread.php?t=207336 Well for me it was about being honest to myself about my problem....next I needed to be open to a new way of seeing things..... PERCEPTION... its still an issue for me...I once heard Clancy, an AA old timer tape. He said that alcoholism is a disease of PERCEPTION....Im not alcoholic but thats so true. I thought I was okay even looking in the mirror. I was weighing 118 pounds. I was dying and guess what.....!!! I didnt even know it. So, Step 1 is about looking at the facts. THE TRUTH...I NEEDED to stop lying to myself and get honest. Its the H.O.W of the program. Honesty, Opemindedness, and Willingness...with these we are well on our way. Good Luck My Friend.....Step One is the beginning of a whole new life....
