What of that age group? Why isn't there something for them?
And they even have animal protection services... and habitat protection services... And all sorts of other things...
But I have yet to find anything for adults... those adults who can't really ask for help. the ones who can't get out from under the roof due to many diffrent reasons. Or have tried and have failed... failed terribly.. Or are scared for their own life so much that they become immobilized by it, and can't even think!  |
here in NY there is a branch of social services called Adult Protective Services. it is for any adult aged 18 and above male or female that may need help from abuse, domestic violence or other protective services .
Every state is different. to find out if your state has an adult protection services just call your local social services office (for most states this is the same offices that you sign up for welfare, food stamps, child protective services, foster care programs....)
here in NY they take reports from anyone including anonymous reports of abuse against adults and will open an investigation, will remove those in danger to shelters and other safe places.
every state also has a domestic violence office, these offices are for any adult of any age going through any type of abuse by friends and family, husbands wives, ...
we also have quite a few rape crisis centers and hotlines here in NY that helps adults of any age in danger of being abused in any way. the reports can be anonymous or not.
also here in NY treatment providers (doctors, therapists, psychiatrists, psychologist) can also call in a report if they feel one of their clients adult or child is in danger to their self or others or are in a danger situation like abuse.
here in NY any NY citizen can also call in a report of abuse on a child or adult, or even call in for a well check to the police, domestic violence, adult protective services if they suspect someone they know is a danger to their self or others or may be in danger from someone else.
