8 weeks ago I had reconstructive ankle surgery and I was prescribed norco for pain. The first 3 days I took it as prescribed, than only as needed. I have days with no pain at all and others are bad. I have not taking the medication regularly and I rotated with dilaudid in the first 4 weeks. Now I take mainly naproxen and rarely norco.
I can see changes in my mental state since the surgery and I wonder how to know if my body developed a dependency to norco or not.
I take Cymbalta for depression and have been stable for 3 years. Shortly after the surgery I seemed to get really depressed and anxious.
Sometimes I get severe ankle pain and I take my norco as prescribed, it seems to calm me somehow, which worries me! I'm in the medical field and I really watched out not to get depended on that drug, but the worsening of my depression and anxiety and the calming effect of the norco worries me. I do not feel the urge to take the medicine for that.
Currently I am also taking antibiotics due to a possible infection of the surgery site.
Does anyone have any experience or infos about this?
Sorry that it is so confusing, I hope you still understand what I mean.
Also a major side effect of the norco is that I'm wide awake and get hot (sweaty) easily!
