Everyone does make good points - all sides.

However, restricting the support community to registered members will make an easier paper trail because of the registration process. You have to provide info to the administrators, e-mail address etc. Yes, it could be made up, but it also gives the person being harmed something to work with (if they recognize the e-mail address).

It may also help people feel more secure. I would know that my husband could not just peruse the site to see what I'm thinking when I'm talking with someone with similar issues.

Yes, he could register, but then, if something disturbing came up, I would have a log in record and an e-mail address.

Everyone does have to be careful and this incident was a reminder. But, restricting support community does no harm to the site and would, IMO and appearantly a lot of others, feel more secure and more willing to use this site for it's main intention.
