Well, the other health professions person I'd ask is your pharmacist.
Ask if there are any interactions between the meds & any questions about each individual med. Also dilaudid is a very strong pain killer.
I had reconstructive shoulder surgery with 6months of making trips to physical therapy center. My ortho surgeon only gave vicoden (sp?) for maybe the first month & some for as needed use after that. But absolutely understand the calming effects you describe after taking these pain pills AND I liked them. They never made me wide awake or sweaty though.
You say you were careful not to get dependent on norco. So you worry about wanting to take it for depression & anxiety, because it calms you? If you crave the feeling/effects of norco then that is a concern to ask doc. As for the changes in your mental state, well again ask your doc about anesthesia after effects, describe to him/her what they are, if they're anything to worry about?It may just be a matter of time.
