So, just to put it out there, I have PCOS and my period won't stop! Gyn. told me i am not a good candidate for birth control meds because of my history of those meds making me more depressed/suicidal. He tried to get it to stop with one med but it won't stop. He wants to put an IUD in me. But first, to stop the bleeding and to rule out cancer, he wants to do surgery to scrape the lining of the uterus out. Anyone ever had this done??? He told me it only takes a few minutes, but that he wants to put me out with general anesthesia. For those who have had this done, does it hurt? will i have like, a bunch of cramps afterwards? Also, he said it would be easier to put the IUD in a week after the surgery since the dilation or whatever, sorry if TMI.. haha... but he did tell me that putting an IUD in does hurt. I've never had kids either... But he says its pretty much all they can do to make it stop. I am on a better diet now so maybe that can help too. I told him I agreed and will do the surgery and IUD and a nurse will call me to set up the surgery sometime in the next few hours. They want it to get done as soon as possible, so probably next week, if not the week after.
