Hi (((krisakira))) --this is standard for abnormal bleeding, and surgery is referred to as a "D&C" (aka "Dilation and Decutterage"). You can google it..also, basically, they dilate your cervix and take some of the skin for analysis in your case. It is also used as an abortion technique.
I had a D&C many years ago. I had some cramping afterwards, yes.
Nastiest part was coming out of the anesthesia...
Had a Lippes loop in for some years (IUD) I did not take well to an IUD. Disrupted my natural rhythm, I had worse cramps and pain with it...perhaps the ones they make today are better? I hope so.
I wish you less cramps than I had, an end to this bleeding w/no unusual diagnosis, safe use of an IUD--sounds like nicoleb2's works well; in short I wish you all good outcomes!
