"just do it" doesn't work for me.
I am sorry your spouse cannot give you the appropriate support you need.
I am glad you talked to us about it.
When I was in my agoraphobia, when they said just do it, I still could not; I was so terrified.
I have tools now to regulate my emotions. I have learned that my phobia is from how I talk to myself. Example: "If I go out, something really bad is going to happen to me" and I feel sure about that. I now challenge that thought. I say to myself, "Okay, Biil, are you sure that something bad really is going to happen or is it just flashbacks?"
Often, it's still hard and I have to take a time out, but it's getting easier.
