While Demetris was alive, Baby was a loner and only somewhat affectionate towards me. The two cats were cordial sharing the sun's rays on the couch and rarely fussed with each other. Now that Baby is the only cat he has really blossomed in the last few months after the other cat died! He follows me from room to room. He now sleeps on my legs or chest every night. The weird behavior is that he now actively tries to groom/wash/clean my face at bedtime which is painful after about 6 licks with that rough tongue

. He's very determined. Pulling the blanket over my head is what saves me.

I've never had a cat that licked me more than 2 licks at any one time.
Now, I also have a seven year old female Great Pyrenees dog. What's weird is she is affectionate but she has NEVER ever licked us. She nuzzles, leans against us, hangs out with us, paws at us and lays against us but she doesn't lick!
I thought it strange that I had a cat that does and a dog that doesn't
Anyone else have my or other weird experiences with their pets?
