If someone asks you why you didn't commit suicide they could be wondering what stopped you. It is a big deal and that's why they ask you about it. It may seem like they seem to think it's not a big deal, but in all reality its a taboo subject. Not to many people like to talk about it. And even more that do not understand the desire behind it, or when the thoughts just come and we don't know why.
