My in-laws don't have a shower in the bathroom I use at their place, so I wash my hair under the faucet with the aid of a cup. Much faster and easier than a full bath!
When I'm hiking, I use our "kitchen sink" with a cup to wash hair every few days. It's a bad bad bad thing to get soap in the lakes anyway, biodegradable or not, it's still a pollutant.
Otherwise, it actually seems like more work to me to just do hair than to jump into the shower - hard on the back and neck for bending over since my hair is long and takes forever to rinse that way. Plus hubby and I shower together (we always have) to save water and get a nice back scrub out of it, so the little bit of intimacy is a good motivator to get into the shower.
