My mother took me with her that summer of 1963 to Washington, D.C. to see/hear Dr. King's "Dream" speech. That changed my life, changed the person I would become. Of course, we didn't hear many of his words that day, what I remember are mostly from the documentaries. But as I read the words, I can hear King's voice and remember that day. We have a long way to go. I hope the young among among us will remember how far and will remember the dream. Freedom and peace seemed possible somehow then and less so now. But without freedom there never can be peace.
