my sobriety is the most wonderful thing i ever did for myself. The PROMISES really do come true. sobriety has given me more things than i can even list. a few:
gratitude
serenity
peace
a new way of living, not just sobriety
wonderful sober friends
the gift, a joy of living
better coping skills in all my affairs
a conscious contact with my higher power. he did what i couldn't do alone. he gave me hope.
freedom from the bondage of my disease
living in today not worrying about tomorrow
i was a "retread". i thought i was a loser cause i kept going back to drinking over and over. but i'd just get up and start again. i had the willingness to keep trying til i got it right. i know there will always be life things that happen but today i know i can handle my reactions differently.
today my life is happy, joyous and free ONE DAY AT A TIME.
my wish for all who are struggling i offer this message- HOPE.
