I need Mother's Day related opinions, if anyone is so inclined.
For my own mother, I've gotten the obligatory card and I'll figure out some gift. I'm not excited about it, but I'll figure something out.
Then there's the woman I WISH was my mother. She was my teacher 20 years ago in elementary school. We've kept in contact over the years, but have become much closer over the past 3 months or so. She tells me I'm like the daughter she never had. I've gotten her a really sweet card that I'm excited about sending and I feel relatively comfortable about doing it. I'm also thinking about a gift, but wonder whether or not it would be appropriate.....you know, what would her own children think? Should I even be concerned with what they'd think? (1 lives here, 1 a couple of hours away, and the other 2 on opposite sides of the country)
And if sending something wouldn't be hugely inappropriate, what kind of gift should it be. Obviously something that isn't expensive, but I'd like it to be meaningful. And as much love as there is for her, I'm just starting to really KNOW her, so I'm not sure what she'd like.
Help!!!!
