I'm torn when I read your post and feel your frustration with life. I know this too well. I did just what you ask about... withdraw from society. Isolation is only a temporary solution. Running away doesn't usually help, since it is our own coping skills (or lack of them) that run away with us, imo.
Sometimes it is good to cut back on the number of activities, and to limit the number of people and even with whom we associate. Hopefully, you have someone (a T?) to keep in touch with as you try to work through those horrible feelings.
