Oh yes, this is a familiar feeling for a lot of us here at PC.

I don't know whether it's dropping out or falling out of society, as it seems pretty automatic once it starts. When I was first going into my present downturn (nine years ago!), the doctor said "Once the ball starts rolling downhill, it's very hard to stop it."

But it's not all bad, it's just different, and we find other places and other networks to belong to and share in. PC is a good one.
