There isn't anything wrong with being "selective" about who you want to become involved with.

And sometimes I wonder if I am being too selective, but honestly, I don't think so. I have emotional needs that have to be met. I have issues that I need help with and someone who can do those things is not unreasonable.

And if I don't find that person who can do that. Then O.K., I can live on my own and I still have all of you!
So no matter what I will never truly be alone.
