I have had something much like this happen to me when I saw a doctor right after my ECT. I still do not remember seeing him or why or what I even saw him for. A couple of months later, the first bill arrived along with a final demand and a rude note. I called them up and asked why I was receiving a final demand and a rude note when the bill was only being sent for the first time. Naturally they were not interested in anything I had to say other than to demand the money.

I agree that it is not your responsibility to call each month. It makes me so angry that payment is expected promptly when the administration of sending out bills is a mess in the first place.
