the problem is not getting DLA from govenment, it is that once you get it the councils are then taking it to pay for care, which they already get money money from government for, and saying everyone is only allowed £20 maximum for their DRE! like you say Perna, DRE can not be controlled as everyones needs are different, but the councils here are trying to control it and when you appeal they give every excuse why £20 is enough!!!
saying things like there is no evidence of food intollerances, you need to provide a years worth of receipts for everything, asking silly questions like how much soap do you use in a week? and even when you provide the evidence and receipts for things they then 'think it is too much' and only allow you less than half of what you proved you need!e.g it costs £12 to wash my duvet when the ill fitting incontinence products they provide leak, which happens two or three nights a week, that means i spend 24-36 pounds on washing it at the laundry, so they are allowing £10 per week for this as they 'feel £24.36 is too much'!!!! the whole system is a hoax, just so they can say 'you can appeal' to make them look good even though they have no intention of letting anyone win!
