Today's appointment was good! I am glad that I had one b/c I ened up in a complete panic over the some medical things, and had yet another full blow panic attack.. not fun. So when I got there I was pretty worked up. Just talking to him, and getting my mind off of everything made me feel a lot better.
Anways, he started the session with.. I got a message that you called me, I am sorry I didn't get back to, but I have been very busy. He asked what I called about and I told him. He said, I need to tell the receptionsist it is urgent and he would get back to me in that case. I didn't do that. He also assured me that as long as it was really urgent I could call, and even after hours. I forgot to ask about e-mails, but at this point, I don't think I would use e-mails.
He did tell me that he was concered about me.. my anxiety is getting worse, panic attacks are coming more often, and my depression is casuing me to just stop connecting with people. He says he hears a lot of desperation in wanting this to all go away. He highly suggested (a few dozen times) that I try to take some meds for the time being. He said it wouldn't be a long term thing (if I didn't want it to be) but it might be good while going through thearpy and finding the roots of everything. He did say it was common for people to go through this, as we are touching on things that generally I don't talk about. He is reffering me to a MD who is a friend of his, and he really trusts.. and he said if I could just go for the intial appointment and talk to the Dr he would be happy with that. So, I will go and talk to the Dr. about the meds. He said most likley I would be put on Zoloft and Xanax(sp?) for those panic attacks that come on me.
We did talk about some other things that were good.. In general I felt like we really are connecting and even had some chit chat type stuff in between topics that I liked. He showed that he cared and was available for me. It was good. The only bummer is that he got very busy next week and was all booked. So, my appointment is booked for 2 weeks. And, I think I am okay with that! I felt a lot better after the appointment!
