When I first started therapy, I was so anxious that i thought I would throw up during sessions. My appt was at 8pm but I never even ate dinner on those nights just in case. I too have asthma. I don't have attacks often either. I once had to use my inhaler in my session because I could feel it getting bad. I never mentioned having asthma so he was surprised but understanding. I wasn't too embarrassed because I knew it would be better to have to use inhaler than to have attack. The next couple of sessions I used my inhaler before I went into office... it was probably not necessary but it made me feel better...then I just forgot about it because the anxiety about sessions really became so much less over time.
