I think you knd of have to look at this from the perspective of your therapist. It *must* be fascinating to watch people open up after years of being closed off. Like watching a flower that blooms once every 5 years or a feral cat that finally accepts food and shelter.
I'm sure for some therapist's this process is quite satisfying and full of joy.
