I take Klonopin for anxiety, PTSD, OCD and GAD. I'm supposed to take one 1mg pill twice per day, but I only take it when my anxiety gets so bad that I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack. (I told my psychiatrist this and he said that it's fine- I don't have to take it if I don't feel I need to). I've never had a bad side effect from it (as a matter of fact, the worst it's done is make me sleepy), however just because I didn't have a bad reaction to it doesn't mean that you won't. Everyone is different, and every person's body handles it and reacts to it differently. In addition, like some of the other members have stated, it may not be just the Klonopin causing the reaction. It could be the Klonopin interacting with another med that you're on, or another med causing the reaction all together. Are you on other medication as well? Also, is Klonopin the only medication that was recently added to your meds? If your suicidal thoughts continue, you might want to call the doctor if he has an after hours number to call, or a crisis hotline. Another option is to go to the ER. I hope this helps, and I hope you feel better soon.
