You're doing something right now... reading this, you were typing that... it may not seem like a lot but in this second, in that moment you weren't waiting for time to pass. You were engaged, present, and your mind was busy doing something else (even if it doesn't feel like it). Try and get your mind to continue doing this.
I know what it feels like to not want to be awake .. or alive.. but you have to believe that there will come another moment, even if briefly, where those intense feelings will subside. Melissa gave some great suggestions on how you can try and occupy yourself. It's not easy, but by doing those things (or others that historically gave you pleasure), you're setting new paths in your brain. Paths that are based on more than wanting to be asleep. With continued practice, those paths will become easier to navigate, and engaging in those activities will get easier - and more enjoyable.
