In some of my deepest depressions, anne, someone's look alone would be enough to make me feel judged & rejected. A few words would sound dismissive, regardless of what they said. The attitude was all mine, twisted by the dark mood overwhelming my mind.
If you're stuck in a depression, know that feelings aren't facts. Don't believe that what you seem to be getting as feedback isn't necessarily true. See a therapist or at least your primary care doctor for a more objective opinion. Be sure the "depression" isn't caused by some medical condition, nutritional need, or other easily-corrected reason.
You're right--your emotions & intellect are at odds. It can be worked out. If this is something fairly new with you, it might even turn out to be a quick fix.
