would say the word for BPD is "difficult", as it is seems, at least from my end, that it is nearly impossible to live a normal "healthy" life with BPD, without SOME form of ongoing treatment to regulate the intense emotions and impulsivity, be it therapy or meds. And the treatment that works for eack person can be very hard to find. i find the antipsych, Geodon works for me and have heard good things about the antipsych group for BPD. So yes it is a hard disorder to have to take on, but it is managable with the right treatment. best wishes!
